How to Kickstart 2023

The cold season may last until the early parts of 2023 and that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t stay with cold season treatments. Apart from that, the entry of 2023 means it’s back to the normal schedule and that means you should be prepared to look fresh and amazing. Here’s how to kickstart your 2023:

  • Declutter your skincare stash

Take a look at your skincare collection and toss out anything that has expired. Most skincare products have a small jar icon with a number inside that indicates how long they are good for after opening. It’s essential to dispose of old products to avoid skin irritation or infections. Keep track of the date you opened each product to help you remember when it’s time to toss it.

  • Exfoliate regularly

Clear away dead skin cells and help speed up cell turnover to reveal fresh, radiant skin. Exfoliating regularly will help your skincare products absorb better, which means better results for your skin. However, be careful not to overdo it. Exfoliate once or twice a week for best results.

  • Mask at least once a week

Masks can do wonders for your skin. Incorporate a weekly mask into your routine to help hydrate, clarify or brighten your skin. While waiting for your mask to work its magic, take the time to relax and unwind. Consider multi-masking to target multiple skin concerns at once.

  • Wash your makeup brushes

Makeup brushes are notorious for accumulating bacteria, oil, and dead skin cells. Clean your brushes regularly to prevent breakouts and extend the life of your brushes. Wash your most-used brushes at least once a week with a mild cleanser, rinse them thoroughly, and let them air dry.

  • Wear skin-healthy makeup

While it’s important to take care of your skin with a solid skin care routine, it’s equally important to choose makeup products that are gentle on your skin. Mineral makeup is a great option because it’s free of talc and other potentially harmful ingredients. Look for non-comedogenic makeup that won’t clog your pores or cause breakouts.

  • Visit an esthetician

Consider booking a visit with an esthetician to give your skin a professional boost. Estheticians can provide expert advice on how to care for your skin and offer treatments like chemical peels and facials to help you achieve your skin care goals. Pairing professional treatments with a solid home care routine can do wonders for your skin.
