Is CoolSculpting Worth it?

CoolSculpting seems like a treatment out of the ordinary compared to other treatments. Thanks to its innovative and modern method of removing fat without any surgery, CoolSculpting is able to remove fat in a very efficient and convenient way. What’s even cooler is its zero to minimal downtime and the painless procedure that comes with it. So there’s no surprise that CoolSculpting is somewhat magical!

However, aside from the convenience, minimal downtime and painless advantages of CoolSculpting, does the treatment really work? And if it does, is it worth it to undergo CoolSculpting?

On both questions, the answer is yes! According to Dr. Nicholas Crawford, CoolSculpting is actually one of the most effective ways of removing fat. He says,

“The simple answer is yes, CoolSculpting works! CoolSculpting permanently destroys treated fat cells with the proven technology of cryolipolysis. CoolSculpting is the leading non-invasive fat-reduction treatment in the world, with more than 7 million treatments performed worldwide. The results have been demonstrated in over 100 clinical studies and various controlled trials. The procedure is now FDA-cleared for fat reduction in 9 different treatment areas.”

Dr. Michael Swann supports CoolSculpting’s effectiveness despite it being a little more expensive than others but of course, more efficient in the long run. He says,

“In my opinion, it is the most effective nonsurgical fat removal treatment with minimal downtime. With as little as two treatments, there is 40% fat reduction in the treated area. Many of the other nonsurgical fat removal methods are less expensive, but in the long run require more treatments and are less effective.”

However, it should be noted that CoolSculpting is not for everyone. While it is true that it is effective and efficient in removing fats, candidates for CoolSculpting must meet certain requirements before they can head down to the treatment.

Dr. Michael Law emphasizes its effectiveness with only certain candidates who will most likely experience the best results of CoolSculpting. He says,

“Some people simply do not have enough body fat for Coolsculpting to work effectively. There are areas where a person may have unwanted small bulges, but if the handpiece doesn’t fit securely, the patient will not see results.  Even people with large bellies, but very firm fat may not be ideal candidates if the handp[iece does not fit securely over the skin and fat .  Additionally people who are obese, and looking for weight loss vs. reduction or elimination of stubborn areas of excess fat are not ideal candidates. Yes, CoolSculpting works. It works for most people, but not for everyone.”
