Microblading v. Ombre powder brows

Eyebrows are currently sitting at the top of the beauty industry after eyebrows that are natural-looking and thick eyebrows suddenly appeared on the internet and became a trend. These eyebrows are made possible by either Microblading or Ombre Powder Brows. While both treatments cater specifically to the further beautification and naturalization of the eyebrows’ shape and form, these permanent eyebrow makeups  are still quite different from one another.

MICROBLADING

Essentially, Microblading replaces the individual hairs and it doesn’t fill in the brows as if they were filled with brow pencils or eye shadows. Microblading utilizes a hand-held device that produces realistic looking hair strokes. Thanks to this device, the brows become more natural-looking and even makes them appear and look soft.

SKIN TYPE

There are only specific skin types for Microblading. Those with oily skin types are discouraged from undergoing Microblading.

PAIN

Microblading can be a little painful but application of numbing gels can help with the pain.

SIDE EFFECTS
Since it is an invasive procedure, there will be redness or swelling after the treatment.

HEALING PERIOD

The brows will take about 3 to 6 weeks before completely healing.

DURATION

The brows can last from 6 months to 2 years depending on the skin type.

OMBRE POWDER BROWS

On the other hand, the Ombre Powder Brows treatment stems from traditional tattoo where the focus is creating soft-powdery brows similar to a traditional brow makeup by adding pigments. It utilizes a tattoo machine that produces a more defined and bold finish.

SKIN TYPE

This treatment is suitable for all skin types including oily skin type and those with large pores.

PAIN

Virtually less painful than Microblading since it is a less invasive procedure.

SIDE EFFECTS

Generally, there are little to no side effects aside from redness and slight swelling

HEALING PERIOD

Ombre Brows can take up to 6 weeks before completely healing.

DURATION

Generally, longer than those of Microblading, Ombre Brows can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years.
